Jeff Wright is a grizzled veteran of digital technology and a serial entrepreneur who has been leading digital design and marketing for over 20 years.
As the first in-house designer at AOL, he worked with the likes of the NFL and Viacom in their first online forays. He designed some iconic work (that now looks like hot garbage) while the field was in its infancy, and Katie Couric was asking what "Internet" was.
He led interactive design at a top-20 marketing agency, led UX and marketing design at iContact, where his teams produced incredible work like MessageBuilder, and in 2012, he joined Coleman Greene as a co-founder of Sqord.
Sqord sought to make active play more fun for kids (shown here in a crazy early phase). Jeff led all user-facing elements, including product strategy, marketing, and design. During its six year run, Sqord received over $4M in funding, built over 150,000 devices, had over 100,000 players, and was accepted into the inaugural 2013 Chicago class of Techstars. Jeff remains a proud and active member of the Techstars network.
In 2017, Jeff started LineWeight, a UX design agency, to try and build a business that was the right mix of design strategy, business sense, marketing know-how, and quality of life.
Away from work, Jeff enjoys time with his family, catching a movie, being outdoors, biking, woodworking, and writing. The occasional nap may also occur. He's a long-suffering fan of the Washington Redskins, and, inexplicably, has yet to take a side on North Carolina college basketball rivalries. He is also dad to two daughters and the human to one devoted dog. Also, there is a cat in his house.
